RE'08 Workshop Author Instructions

1.  Paper page limit

Please use the page limit given in your acceptance email, consistent with your workshop's Call for Papers and your paper type.

It is not possible to purchase additional pages.

2.  Important dates

The final camera-ready copy and the signed copyright release form are due on the date specified for your workshop (8 August 2008 for most workshops but 1 August for some).  See your acceptance email or the workshop web site.

In order for your paper to be published:

3.  Formatting your paper

Your final papers must be formatted to IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscript Formatting Guidelines:
8.5" x 11" double column (DOC, PDF, PS)
LaTex Formatting Macros

4.  Creating a PDF file valid for IEEE Xplore

4.a.  Creating your own PDF file

To create your own PDF file, please change the setting on your PDF distiller to insure your paper meets IEEE PDF specifications.  The basic PDF distiller settings must be changed to:

Note that Postscript settings do not override distiller settings

Check your final PDF file before submission to verify that all fonts have been properly embedded and subset.  Some font manufacturers now flag their fonts to not embed;  avoid these fonts.

4.b.  PDF eXpress for converting and validating files

IEEE has agreed to keep the RE'08 PDF eXpress running through August 8.  After August 8 this will no longer be available.  See the link for information and login.  PDF eXpress converts various kinds of files (.doc, .ps, etc.) to IEEE-acceptable PDF files, and validates your PDF file if you make it yourself.

Running your file through PDF eXpress does not submit it — you must take the resulting PDF file and submit it as instructed in your acceptance email.

Use re08x as the conference ID.
