Bloc
Party is a fun band. They do fun things, like making party-conscious "disco" albums.
But to be honest, I never bought their full length. It just seemed
like a bunch of filler to me. But Bloc Party, being the fun, hipster
band that they are, decided to remix it anyway. And why not? The
Banquet Disco Version (which reapears on this one too) at the end
of that EP wasn’t all that bad. But there’s reason
why fellow dance-punkers The Faint waited until after their third
album to put out a remix, that being that you need to actually write a good album
before you can remix it. But in conclusion, if you’re
a fan of Silent Alarm, you will probably like the remix. Just
be warned, though, this album makes for a pretty dull dance party.
