REVIEWS - Calvin Johnson - Before The Dream Faded (K Records)

Calvin Johnson, ex member of Beat Happening and founder of the indie label K records, put out a new solo album. This is what im gona say about it. I cant stand Calvins super low vocal singing! BUT the sparse melodic electronics, the rocking bass parts and the sexy lady vocals happening behind Calvin on some of the tracks, make it listenable. What im trying to say is that theres a lot of interesting stuff happening here and if you like Calvin you should definitl check this out, but if your like me and cant stand that super low voice this probably wont change your mind. And if you have never heard of Calvin Johnson before I’d recommend picking up his second Beat Happening release, Jamboree (the one with "Indian Summer" on it).
