Computer Scientist Earns Science Foundation Award

Charless Fowlkes, UC Irvine assistant professor of computer science, is the recipient of the National Science Foundation’s Faculty Early Career Development award. The award comes in recognition for his project titled “Combinatorial Inference and Learning for Fusing Recognition and Perceptual Grouping.” The $500,000 award will be distributed over five years to further his research on computational vision, both in understanding the information processing capabilities of the human visual system and in developing machine vision systems.

 

 

 

 

 
Computer Scientist Earns Science Foundation Award
