THE ASSOCIATION FOR WOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP
OVERVIEW: The Association for Women in Technology Scholarship program provides funding to further educational objectives of women pursuing careers in technology.
AWARD: 1 award of $1,700
SELECTION CRITERIA:
» Cumulative GPA of 3.2 » Freshman, Sophomore, and Juniors » Demonstrated financial need » Demonstrated leadership skills » Demonstrated contribution in increasing diversity in computer science » Able to staff/volunteer for AWT events 6 hours per quarter
ACCENTURE SCHOLARSHIP
OVERVIEW: The Accenture Outstanding Junior ICS Student Award was established through and endowment in 1992 by Accenture to recognize and financially assist selected student recipients during their final year at UC Irvine.
AWARD: 1 award of $1,000SELECTION CRITERIA:
» The recipient will have a minimum GPA of 3.0 » The recipient must be scheduled to graduate in the following academic year » 40 percent of the criteria will be based on scholarship (academic standing) » 30 percent will be based on demonstrated leadership abilities » 30 percent will be based on Civic and/or Charitable Involvement (eg: volunteerism with various charity or civic minded organizations or individual efforts taken by applicants) » Essay required
CONEXANT SCHOLARSHIP/FELLOWSHIP
OVERVIEW: Conexant is serious about developing, as well as recruiting, a new generation of students interested in working on What's Next in Communications Technology. Higher education strongly supports Conexant’s core competencies. Conexant is committed to supporting higher education by offering scholarships at its strategic schools and often considers scholarship applicants for future jobs and internships.AWARD: 1 award of $5,000

» ICS Majors » Junior standing, or be classified as a first-year senior or master's student » Interest in working in the semiconductor industry » Minimum ICS GPA of 3.50 (undergraduate) + 3.75 (graduate) » Registered as a full-time student » Making reasonable progress toward ICS degree » Interest in summer internship experience with Conexant before graduation » Must be able to work in the U.S. » Candidate will be graduating no earlier than December 2007 » Demonstrated leadership skills » Involvement in extra-curricular activities » Demonstrated financial need » Essay required
ESSIE LEV ENDOWNED STUDENT AWARD
OVERVIEW: The Essie Lev Student Award was established by Sara Sandel to honor her sister and former UC Irvine academic counselor Essie Lev. The award is designated for transfer or re-entering undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need. Students must have a declared major in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences.AWARDS: 1 award of $1,000

KENNETH SIMMS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
OVERVIEW: The Kenneth Simms Memorial Scholarship endowment was established in 1989 by Laguna Software to honor UCI alumnus and one of the most significant contributors to the development of the PICK Operating System, Kenneth Simms ’70.
AWARDS: Two of $2,000 each
SELECTION CRITERIA:
» Academic excellence » Recipient must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident » The recipient should be preparing for a profession in the field of computer science » The recipient is selected by the selection committe according to the guidelines » Demonstrated financial need » No essay required
OCTFCU SCHOLARSHIPOverview: Established by the Orange County Teachers Federal Credit Union to support two deserving junior students and help them finance their last year(s) of college education.
AWARDS: Two of $3,000 each
