BicThe Department of Computer Science at UCI is the largest of the three departments that make up the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences—one of only a handful of schools in the world dedicated exclusively to this domain of research and education.
With 37 full-time faculty members, 200+ graduate students, and over 400 undergraduates, we provide a world-class research environment spanning not only the classical areas of computer science, including computer architecture, system software, networking and distributed computing, data and information systems, the theory of computation, artificial intelligence, and computer graphics, but also highly interdisciplinary programs, such as biomedical informatics, data mining, security and privacy, or ubiquitous computing.
The diverse research interests of our faculty are reflected directly in our educational programs. The CS faculty teaches most of the undergraduate and graduate courses for the three main degree programs in Computer Science, Information & Computer Science, and Computer Science & Engineering, as well as the graduate program in Networked Systems.
Our department also collaborates with many other institutions in the US and abroad and its doors are always open to a multitude of visitors and collaborators from all corners of the globe.
I invite you to browse the pages of our web site to get a glimpse of some of the exiting opportunities available through our department and our School of Information and Computer Sciences.
