Mapping Home/Group Directory - Mac
*** Important ***
If you're using the UCInet Mobile Access (UCI wireless) or connecting from off-campus,
please make sure that you're connected via the UCI VPN first.
- From the Finder, click on Go, then select Connect to Server
- In the Server Address, enter one of the following and click Connect
- Home directory:
smb://tron.ics.uci.edu/your_username- Group directory:
smb://samba.ics.uci.edu/group_acct_name- For Name, enter uci-ics\yourusername then enter your password and click Connect
- Your account is now mapped.
- If you would like to save the mapped drive as a short cut, drag the newly mapped drive over to DEVICES on the left.
- When you map the drive next time, it will automatically show up under DEVICES
- From the Finder, click on Go, then select Connect to Server
- In the Server Address, enter one of the following and click Connect
- Home directory:
smb://tron.ics.uci.edu/your_username- Group directory:
smb://samba.ics.uci.edu/group_acct_name
- For Name, enter uci-ics\yourusername then enter your password and click Connect
- Your account is now mapped.
- If you would like to save to save the mapped drive as a short cut, drag the drive over to DEVICES on the left.
- When you map the drive next time, it will automatically show up under DEVICES
- If you are on the UCInet Mobile Access or are connecting from off-campus, please make sure that you're connected to the UCI VPN before trying to map the network drive.
- Please make sure that your entering in your ICS password NOT your UCInet ID password.
- If you get an error about a the path not found, please try replacing the server name with its IP address:
- samba.ics.uci.edu - 128.195.1.18
- tron.ics.uci.edu - 128.195.1.5
