Mapping home/group directory »
From off campus:
- To mount your Unix directories from off campus you will need to first install the VPN client from the NACS website: http://www.nacs.uci.edu/security/vpn.html. Then follow the directions below.
From on Campus:
- From the Finder, click on Go, then select Connect to Server.
- In the Server Address, enter
smb://data.ics.uci.edu/your_username
** If you're trying to connect to a group account, entersmb://samba.ics.uci.edu/group_acct_name
** If your home directory is NOT on data, entersmb://samba.ics.uci.edu/your_username
Click Connect.
** To save the path for next time, click on + sign before clicking on Connect.
- Enter your ICS username follow by your password and click Connect.
- Your account is now mapped.
- To save the mapped drive as a short cut, drag the drive over to DEVICES on the left.
When you map the drive next time, it will automatically show up under DEVICES
