Retrieving Snapshot from UNIX »
- Note down where the lost file was located.
- From the root of your home directory, change to .snapshot directory (make sure that the dot in front of snapshot is included)
- Next, type
ls -luto list files by date. There will be up to 20 files, named nightly.0 through nightly.29. nightly.0 is the most recent, and nightly.29 is the oldest.- Change the directory to the folder you think the file is most likely in.
- Find the file you want to recover and copy it to your home directory.
Note: If the file already exists there, you must rename it.You have restored your deleted or corrupted file.
