We're excited to share our experiences at UC Irvine with you during your visit.

We are students pursuing research drawing on the broad range of expertise of our faculty as well as our peers. We have diverse interests and backgrounds with previous experience in industry, research, and the arts.

The Department of Informatics allows us to collaborate in novel ways, bringing together theory, implementation, design and empirical study.

Our research, collaborations, and conversations create bridges between social impacts and technical solutions and help to define the future of Informatics. Internships at cutting-edge research facilities as well as collaboration with industry partners provide us the opportunity to gain experience and to establish contacts in and outside of academia.

We are also involved in many student-led activities. We run our own mini-conference - a symposium for students, by students, where we engage in each other's research and provide feedback. We are actively involved in the undergraduate curriculum through teaching, mentoring, and project courses that allow us to engage undergraduates in our research. We also do a lot of community outreach, including classes at local high schools and emergency response during environmental crises in the region.

And of course, we also have fun! Life in Los Angeles and Orange County gives you access to a range of spaces to take a break from research: beaches, national parks, touring music acts, and art exhibitions, just to name a few. On campus, there's Wii in the LUCI lab, the Anteater Pub for bonding over beer, and restaurants and coffee shops adjacent to campus.

Each of us has unique perspectives, needs, and goals we fulfill at UC Irvine. We hope we get to tell you in person about what UC Irvine can offer you. Join us!
