JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Up to four undergraduate student ambassadors will be selected via a competitive application and interview process.
What you can expect from participation in the Ambassadors Program:
Minimum qualifications and requirements:
- The opportunity to work with faculty, staff and other student leaders to advance the Bren School’s outreach and recruitment goals;
- The opportunity to strengthen your skills with public speaking, program and event planning, and teamwork and leadership skills;
- Work experience to add to your resumé;
- A quarterly stipend will be provided (TBD, based on 2008-09 final budget allocation).
Ambassador Responsibilities:
- Must have completed at least one year as a Bren School major (ICS, CSE, CSE or Informatics)
- Sophomore-level or junior standing by fall 2008
- 2.5 Minimum GPA
- Ability to effectively communicate your Bren School and Anteater pride to others
- Professional work habits (dependable, reliable, team player, willingness to learn)
- Willingness to perform student ambassador duties for fall, winter and spring quarters 2008-09;
- Willingness to demonstrate professional standards of language, behavior and dress (a Bren School t-shirt will be provided) at all times during assigned ambassador visits and outreach activities.
- Attend trainings and weekly meetings to assist with ambassador assignments, including planning, scheduling and hosting outreach events* (listed below); reviewing marketing materials; providing School and campus information to prospective applicants and their families by phone, electronic and in-person meetings.
- Develop working relationships with 3-4 feeder high schools or community colleges
- Help to develop a 15-20 minute Bren School presentation for K-12 audience
- Deliver at least 3 presentations quarterly to K-12 audiences (individually or in group format). SAO will provide mileage reimbursement for travel to local schools.
- Participate in assigned outreach activities, events* and tasks
- Communicate and work closely with SAO undergraduate counselors to ensure that all information being conveyed to the general community is accurate, consistent and reflective of Bren School outreach goals.

- Lunch for graduating seniors with Dean and ADSA
