New Transfer and 2nd Baccalaureate Students

UNIVERSITY RELATED INFORMATION

1. Activate your UCI NET ID.

2. Sign up for the mandatory NEW STUDENT ORIENTATIONDEADLINE TO SIGN UP IS MONDAY, JUNE 5TH AT 5PM.

  • If you were granted an exception, please view our ICS Online Orientation.
    • After viewing the orientation, complete this short quiz.  ICS Student Affairs will email you with further instructions after your quiz results have been processed.

3. Contact the STUDENT HOUSING office if you are interested in living on campus.

4. Register finaidmail@uci.edu with your spam checker / safe list so you successfully receive emails from the FINANCIAL AID office regarding your financial aid, deadlines, and file status.

5. Visit the MESSAGE CENTER at your MyAdmission homepage. The Admissions Office will send you a message about any missing documents/transcripts, or if a hold has been placed on your record.

1. Take this quiz to learn which ICS CREDIT BY EXAMS you need to take and register accordingly below:

  •  Register to take the ICS 31/CSE 41 CREDIT BY EXAM (Intro to Programming).  Go here to sign up and learn more.
    • Note: If you intend to take the other ICS credit by exams, you must schedule these on different dates as each exam usually takes the full two hour slot.
  •  Register to take the ICS 45J CREDIT BY EXAM (Programmiing in Java as a Second Language)Go here to sign up and learn more. 
    • Note: If you intend to take the other ICS credit by exams, you must schedule these on different dates as each exam usually takes the full two hour slot.
  •  Register to take the ICS 45C / CSE 45C CREDIT BY EXAM (Programming in C/C++ as a Second Language).  Go here to sign up and learn more.

3. Learn about YOUR MAJOR and course requirements by using the UCI General Catalogue.

4. Purchase a LAPTOP if you do not already own one. ICS students are required to own a personal laptop for coursework.
