Career Desired:

I hope to get a job with the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Aberdeen South Dakota, just because it is a permanent job, the retirement program they have is great to retire to and they have a lot of opportunities to offer to Indian people. I have wanted to work with them for as long as I can remember. For me this was an opportunity to get my kids and I off the reservation and be all I could be. I just wanted to be able to give my kids what I never had, and that was a better way of life.

Employer Desired:

Job Title:

Computer Clerk/ Analyst- I would be working to set up computers with all the different programs available, filing through a computer, sending messages through a computer, and doing memo’s through the computer.

Education:

I have finished and graduated high school from Flandreau Indian School, Flandreau SD, I have attended Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute in Albuquerque NM and finished with a certificate in computer science, and am now attending college in Bismarck ND, known as United Tribes Technical College where I will graduate with a AAS in Office Technology and a AAS in Small Business Management.

Computer Experience:

Did a course in computer science at SIPI in Albuquerque, and a degree in office technology at United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck ND.

Other Abilities/Skills:

Answering phones, filing, typing and how to run different types of office machines.

Work Environment Desired

To work with my own people, because they are really friendly and understand you really well, really willing to help out when you need it, will always be there when you need them to be. I like to be in an easy going environment, one where people welcome you and make you feel at home.
