Quality of Interaction

One issue that will be of considerable concern to us later in this paper is that of the different qualities of interaction. It seems to be a very important issue, often neglected in education. The key to maximizing learning is to individualize learning. This is achievable through a high level of interaction.

The ability to achieve mastery level learning, as just discussed, is very much dependent on paying close attention to what the student is doing, what the student's strengths and weaknesses are, and what the student needs additional help with. This is essential in a mastery environment, but is highly desirable in every learning environment.

The different technologies to be discussed here will lead to very different results as far as the quality of interaction, as will be seen in the following discussion.
