Learning science may focus on one age group, or address a broader age group. Formal instruction often focuses on one age, but informal learning appeals to a wider audience. So this distinction is not independent of formal and informal learning. The Scientific Reasoning Series attempts to reach a wide age group; the modules have been used in public libraries with visitors ranging from about ten years old to retirees.
