The Discovery of Scientific Theories

In this second group of Scientific Reasoning dialogs, students are placed in the role of a scientist, developing scientific theories. Students work to develop simple theories. They can actively gather evidence, develop hypotheses, test these against the evidence, and modify them. The interactive environments are friendly and protective of the students; they will eventually succeed if they continue to work on the problem.

I emphasize that the dialogues offer only an introduction to the many methods of scientific discovery.
