Developing Formal Reasoning Skills

These two dialogs help students to develop reasoning skills essential in scientific activity. They concentrate on ratio reasoning, a skill identified by Piaget as necessary for formal reasoning.

They allow students to work with ratio reasoning in two different contexts, since previous experience has shown that students need to see these skills in several contexts before they can be generalized to other areas.
