Many high school and university courses, particularly for nonmajors, include history of science. A few specialized courses focus directly on historical aspects. We must distinguish between genuine history, the development of the critical ideas, and the mythology that often passes for history of science.
A few textbooks are careful in developing historical material, such as Project Physics. Good historical material can be an important component, or the main focus, of science learning material. History of science may be studied to understand the nature of science.
