CompSci 161 notes
California law forbids anyone from making use of class lecture notes for commercial purposes,
and such activity is expressly forbidden without the instructor's written permission.
No one may make recordings of lectures in this course in other media without the instructor's permission.

The following series of notes, written during the past decade,
reflects the topics covered by me in my class lectures.
During lecture, while I am speaking and writing on the board,
it is preferable that you:
- do not furiously write down all that I say
- do listen and try to understand what I say
In my opinion, you will find it useful to read about these
topics in the class textbook(s) before coming to lecture.
Some caveats about these notes:
- they are not word for word what I say in class
- they may omit some things that I say in class
- they may include some things that I do not say in class
