String Library Predicates

  ECLiPSe provides a library of string handling predicates. These are provided in the prolog library file strings.pl. This library is autoloaded when one of the predicates is first used.    

ECLiPSe String Library predicate.

append_strings(?String1, ?String2, ?String3)

Succeeds if String3 is the concatenation of String1 and String2.  
substring(+String1, ?Position, ?Length, ?String2)

Succeeds if String2 is the substring of String1 starting at position Position and of length Length.
