Overview

The ECLiPSe logic programming system is (so far) an integration of ECRC's , MegaLog and (parts of the) CHIP system and newly developed libraries. This combination is now the default configuration of the system. The documentation is organised as follows:

The User Manual
describes the functionality of the ECLiPSe kernel (this document).
The Knowledge Base Manual
describes the database functionality of ECLiPSe .
The Extensions Manual
describes ECLiPSe extension features and extension libraries including various constraints systems.
The OPIUM Manual
describes the OPIUM high level debugging system.

Apart from these manuals, there is another document available containing detailed specifications of the ECLiPSe built-in predicates. This is the Built-in Predicate Reference Manual [22]. It contains the same information as the on-line help facility.

The differences between this version and previous and ECLiPSe

versions are not listed explicitly in this manual.
