CompSci 260 Quiz 2Regrade Policy - Fall 2011 (Dillencourt)
If you think an error was made in grading your second quiz, please
submit a regrade request.
Your regrade request should consist of the following two parts,
together with your entire answer 3-page answer sheet:
- A list of the problems you want regraded (or other items you want
addressed, for example if your score was added incorrectly.)
- For each item in the above list, a coherent statement of what you
think the grading error was.
Turning in your regrade request:You may do this in one of the following
three ways
- Bring it with you to class on Thursday, December 1.
- Bring it my office (DBH 4086) on or before 1PM Friday December 9:
- If I am in my office, hand it to me personally.
- If I am not in my office, shove it under the office door.
- Bring it with you to the final exam on on Thursday, December 8.
The deadline of Friday, Decmeber 9, 1PM is firm. Regrade requests received
after that may be ignored.
A few notes on the regrade process:
- As stated above, the deadline for submitting a regrade is a firm deadline.
- Please prepared regrade requests carefully.
If your regrade does not substantially follow the above format, or
if your request is unclear or poorly written, you may not receive any
additional points, irrespective of the merit of your request.
- Regrading can lower your exam score.
I will look very carefully at all problems
you ask me to regrade. If in the process of regrading your exam
we discover other grading mistakes on other problems, I will correct
these errors as well.
So it is possible that your exam score could be lowered as
a result of submitting it for a regrade.
- You may want to make a photocopy of your answer sheet before submitting
your regrade request. In particular, you will not get the
original back before the final exam.
- Please avoid frivolous requests or "fishing expeditions."
- Please keep in mind that "tampering with an examination after it has
been corrected, then returning it for more credit" is an act of
academic dishonesty.
