Paul Leach observed at IETF-LA LDAP that if DAV and LDAP aim at the same space, there needs to be isomorphic security. In LDAP, there's sensitivity levels: a record could be marked confidential or private. This seems restricitive because it lumps together lots and lots of records at the same level.
