WebDAV Interoperability Experience

Several WebDAV clients and servers have now been implemented, and have been tested against each other. The table below captures, at a high level, interoperability experience to date between client/server pairs.

The intent is to keep this Web page up-to-date. If you notice any entries which are no longer correct, please email Jim Whitehead <ejw@ics.uci.edu> with updated information. Especially if you are implementing a WebDAV client or server, please send updates on experience with your application.

This interoperability information is very important for advancing the standardization status of WebDAV specifications. Within the IETF, a specification starts on the "standards track" at Proposed Standard. Advancing to Draft Standard requires at least two interoperable implementations of every protocol feature from different code bases (for detailed information on how a specification advances along the standards track, see RFC 2026). So, for WebDAV, this means two server implementations of every feature, and two client implementations of every feature. Compliance with these features has to be documented, and this Web page will be the starting point for collecting this information.
