About Me

I am a PhD student in the Informatics Department, the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Irvine. My advisor is Dr. David Redmiles. I graduated from California State University, Fullerton with B.S and M.S.in Computer Science many years ago.

Research

My research interests are technology impact on organizations and work practices, CSCW, knowledge management and technology diffusion and adoption

I have been studying a community of knowledge management (KM) practitioners in the aerospace industry . I am currently studying a Libray Services group in an aerospace company. I am particularly interested in how service groups promote their practices and tools in the engineering dominated organization. To analyze my field data, I have adopted the notions of social worlds and legitimization practices explicated by Anselm Strauss and Shibutani's reference group theory.
