"It's that moment of dawning comprehension that I live for." -- Bill Watterson
I'm a Software Engineer at Google, in the Kirkland, WA office. I work on web search infrastructure--crawl scheduling, mostly--and Java libraries (mostly JUNG--see below).
Prior to joining Google, I was a PhD candidate at the University of California, Irvine, studying machine learning and data mining on social network data, with an emphasis on temporally evolving networks; and an Applied Researcher at Microsoft, working on various "safety"-related problems: spam, phishing, botnets, filtering, etc.
In my copious free time, I hang out with my family and friends, play French horn, sing bass-baritone, read and write compulsively, bicycle, cross-country ski, swim, and play soccer, frisbee, and addictive computer games. (This list would be longer but for the existence of the last item.)
