We went into the hospital at noon on 31 January. We waited a while for Corwin to show signs of emerging, but apparently he liked it in there.

Eventually we decided that we'd have to go get him. So we got ready for surgery...

Joshua gets ready. Bill (his dad) looks more convincing in this outfit.

Corwin makes his grand entrance. (Exit?)

"What does a guy have to do to get some peace and quiet around here?"
|
"Okay, maybe this isn't so bad." (His hair is lighter than this; it's still wet at this point.)
|
Joshua trims the umbilical cord. (Not "cuts"; the astute will note that the cord is no longer attached to Megan. This is apparently the substitute ritual for Caesarian sections.)
|
Also known as 9 pounds, 3 ounces. (They had to move him elsewhere to measure his length; this scale wasn't long enough.)
|
Photo op! (The anesthesiologist really enjoyed playing MC.)

Megan holding Corwin for the first time.
|
Contrary to appearances, Corwin is not actually trapezoidal. (Megan thinks that it looks like Corwin is popping out of a wedding cake. She has a point.)

Testing out the sling.

By evening of the next day, Megan is already up and walking around. Go Megan!
