LEAVING

Why am I home again?
What's gone so far
as to say I was gone. I kissed
the goodbyes and swam under the sea

only to emerge, near drowned,
on the shores of here.
The thousand eyes of you
watching like I had food

or was it.

My exposed skin has come
to pinks and tans,
your hand gets set
on my salty shoulder.

To walk me back into the forest
of who I am from,
to where I had gone and see
why I am home again.
