This award was given for contributions to Boeing’s Chromate Free programs. My role in this project included preparing samples of aluminum pre-treatments on site for Boeing in order to begin Boeing’s extensive testing process.

As treasurer, I kept track of and managed INSA finances as well as participated in creation of INSA, securing funds for INSA, and planning events and promoting INSA as a whole.
WORK/ INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE
2006-Current Computer Resource Specialist at the University of California, Irvine
My responsibilities include managing a database of students associated with the office of Student Academic Advancement Services (SAAS), running queries and preparing reports of data. Other responsibilities include building and maintaining a website for the SAAS office and essential participation in providing data for yearly report of office statistics.
2005-2006 Webmaster at Deft Inc.
I worked on a new website for the company. This included holding interviews with employees to determine needs and designing a new look and feel for the website.
2004-2006 Laboratory Technician at Deft Inc.
I worked in a laboratory setting, preparing samples for experiments, running and documenting experiments, as well as completing analysis of results. Some travel experience, traveling in order to prepare on-site samples for prospective customers and demonstrate techniques used.
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
2007-Current Mopix

The Project
Mopix is a mobile application that allows users to upload photos taken on the mobile phone to a public display that creates various visualizations of the uploaded photos. These visualizations are intended to provide social awareness information using photos taken at distributed locations. My responsibilities in this project include server side implementation of application and interface design and implementation of mobile application.
2007 Gender and Technology in the Workplace

The Project
In my study of multitasking at an organization, I used ethnographic methods to observe male and female participants at work. After observations were complete, each participant was interviewed individually. The project aimed to gather data to help determine what gender differences exist in multitasking practices and why they occur.

RhythIMs
This project included using data about temporal patterns of Instant Messenger usage in an interactive/ambient display. My thesis was about the ways of designing interaction for such a display which includes interactive and ambient aspects as ways of using the display. My responsibilities in this project included web interface implementation and working with Bluetooth devices as sensors for the interactive display.
2006 CRA-W Distributed Mentor Project Participant

The UML Wall
Research project involved using a large, 3D display and a virtual space to visualize the gap between system level designs and implementation level design. Project involved using a virtual scale of abstraction which displayed varying diagrams based on the user’s position in the virtual space. My responsibilities included creating a project idea and plan, implementing the application, and running user studies using that application.
