  Introduction

I am currently a Ph.D. student in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine, doing research in privacy and security with my advisor Dr. Gene Tsudik.

I received my Bachelors of Science degree in 2004 from the Computer Science department at the University of Texas at Dallas. After graduation I continued my studies in the joint Masters/Ph.D. program offered by the University of California, Irvine. I received my Masters of Science Degree in June 2006 with a concentration in Systems.

  Teaching Assistant/Work Experience

  • Helsinki University of Technology Visiting Researcher -- May - Sept 2009
I am currently a visiting researcher with the Helsinki University of Technology (TKK) Department of Communications and Networking (COMNET). I am working on a joint research project with Professor Joerg Ott and Nokia Research Center. We plan on investigating fragment authentication techniques for opportunistic networks.

  • NEC Europe Network Laboratory Intern -- Nov 2008 - March 2009
During my internship with NEC Europe Ltd. Network Laboratories in Heidelberg, Germany I investigated security primitives for smart-card enabled devices. The first half of my internship involved developing smart-card access for the NEC Identity Brokerage system. The second half we investigated an implementation of a group signature primitive for JavaCard based smart-cards.

  • Nokia Research Center Intern -- June-Nov 2007
This was a six month internship with NRC's Internet Core Technology Center Security Research group in Helsinki, Finland. During this time we investigated securing storage resources of nodes in Mobile Delay-Tolerant Networks. We showed that a small minority of malicious nodes can negatively impact delivery ratios of honest users and propose several techniques for mitigating this damage.
