About reading assignments.
Students sign up for two topics, but only one topic will be assigned to each
student; the final assignment will be made by the Professor, according to
students' preferences. Send preferences by Fri. Oct. 10
(to lopes@ics.uci.edu). Students' presentations start on the 6th lecture
(Oct. 16). Planned slots per topic:

About lecture 2 (Oct. 2).
Format: Workshop.
Mandatory readings: Weiser, Abowd-tochi
Additional readings: Allen, Constas, Dey, Harter, Marti, Rantanen, Ross
For each mandatory paper and one additional paper of your choice:
(1) identify most interesting points;
(2) add or rewrite small section/paragraph;
(3) prepare an oral summary of 1 minute per
paper related to (1) and (2).
Deliverable: a 1 page written summary.
About lecture 3 (Oct. 7)
Format: Workshop
Select a Sci-Fi movie/book.
Prepare a 5-minute-long oral presentation describing a Ubicomp situation.
Deliverable: a 1 page written summary or 1 PPT slide.
