El Capitan Alatriste

This is the story of Spain's quintaessential XVII century swordman Diego (Capitan) Alatriste, as told by his assistant, the orphan Inigo Montoya. The intriguing tale is beautifully complemented with a thorough documentation work, carried together with his young daughter Carlota. In the line of a modern D'artagnan, this is the most successful book by Spain's current best-selling author and polemic columnist, and the first of a series of sequels that counts 5 hits in the shelves. If you speak Spanish, no te lo pierdas, and if not, try the English version.

Hitchhickers Guide to the Galaxy

An all times geek classic, this is a truly remarkable book, among other things because it has written on the cover, in big bold fonts, the comforting advice "Don't panic". Well, what can I say? If you visit this page from Barrapunto or Slashdot, as it is most of the times, there's nothing else I can tell you about it. Enjoy either the English or the Spanish version, and don't leave Earth without it.
