This includes: an understanding of the overall goal(s), the software architecture and technology pieces, and infrastructural compatibility on the two campuses. We will: a. briefly review relevant work on the two campuses directly related to systems software for mobile devices (PDAs, Platforms, Wireless network nodes, etc); b. explore possible project ideas that directly add to Cal-IT2 goals; c. define short term (6mo-1year) as well as long term demonstration vehicles ("CNN news"); d. concretize Cal-IT2 support for this activity (tangible as well as "moral support"). Meeting and Subsequent Deliverables: 1. White Paper on the software architecture for the wireless infrastructure -- what are the layered software pieces jointly being worked on? 2. Plan of action document: Adoption and expansion of the current efforts on providing 3G interoperability with 802.11 solutions on the two campuses. 3. Task ownership and needs document Cal-IT2 links are at http://www.ics.uci.edu/~rgupta/cal-it2/
