Course Policies

NOTE: By enrolling in an ICS course, you are agreeing to the policies specified in the Academic Dishonesty below. If you are enrolled in one of my courses, you will also be bound to the academic honesty policies set below, as well as the those specified in the Personal Policy portion of the page.

Academic Dishonesty

University/Department Policies

The University policies about academic misconduct are published online at: http://www.senate.uci.edu/9_IrvineManual/3ASMAppendices/Appendix08.html

Keep in mind that academic dishonesty includes such things as cheating,    inventing false information or citations, plagiarism, and helping someone else commit an act of academic dishonesty. It usually involves a student's attempt to show a level of knowledge or skill that he/she does not possess.

In addition, the ICS department has a clarification of these policies as they pertain to course work involving computers, which can be found at:
http://www.ics.uci.edu/%7Eucounsel/continuing_students/cheat.html

Personal Policy

Cheating is disrespectful to both yourself, and everyone else in the class. It harms those hardworking students who are willing to put in their best effort and accept their score. If a case of cheating is brought to my attention and can be verified, that student will be given an F in the course. This incident will be placed in your personal record, and you will also become ineligible for honors upon graduation. Please don’t risk it.

Adding/Dropping the Class

Adding

Priority will be given to senior students for whom the course fulfills a specific major requirement, or to those for whom this is a last opportunity for the course. Please submit a completed add/drop card and you will be notified if a position in the course has opened. Those who submit add/drop cards will be selected on a random basis provided s/he has maintained regular attendance in the course.

Dropping

As specified in department policy, no student shall be allowed to drop the course after Friday of the second week of classes.
