Responsibilities:
Creating and maintaining an infrastructure that promotes research and
technology and contributes to the mission of the Donald Bren School of
Information & Computer Sciences (ICS) by serving local and global
communities. Work with faculty in a broad spectrum of activities, from
directing their ideas to appropriate sponsoring agencies to aiding with
proposal preparation, to bridging communications between the faculty
and the offices of External Relations and Communications, as well as
Sponsored Projects Administration, the Office of Technology Alliance,
etc.
The Director of Research Administration works with the faculty to
seek research funding sources; to facilitate implementation of research
projects; to interact with the UC research world; to track emerging
opportunities, in industry, government and foundations; to promote the
sponsored activities of ICS and to manage relationships with partners
in research.
