ICS Students Develop New Feature for UCI Now App that Advertises Virtual Events for Free

A new feature of the popular UCI Now app lets anyone with a UCInetID list their virtual meeting or event for free. Developed by a team of students from the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences (ICS) working at the UCI Student Center, the feature lets you, with just a few clicks, share your event with thousands of UCI Now users and Student Center website visitors. When you list your event in UCI Now, it will appear in the app and on the Virtual Events calendar on the Student Center website. It’s one of the easiest ways to promote your online gathering, meeting, event or activity.

This product is intended as a free service for the UCI community to help lessen the impact of COVID-19. The app aims to keep our vibrant social and cultural community connected during remote learning mode. Download the app from the Google Play App Store for Android or from the App Store for iOS users. If you already have UCI Now, make sure it’s updated to see the new Virtual Events feature. Visit the Student Center’s Virtual Events site for details.
