Studying Professional Software Design

An NSF-Sponsored International Workshop
February 8th-10th, 2010, University of California, Irvine, CA, USA

Studying Professional Software Design will be held at the University of California, Irvine. Meetings will take place in Donald Bren Hall, home to the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences.

The University of California, Irvine is located in Orange County, between Los Angeles and San Diego in Southern California (see the following map). The campus itself is centrally located, with easy access from a number of different freeways.

This annotated map shows the venue itself and closest parking structure.

The nearest and most convenient airport is Orange County/John Wayne Airport (SNA). Other regional airports include Los Angeles International Airport and Long Beach Airport.

Some hotels, see below, offer complimentary transportation to and from Orange County/John Wayne Airport. Taxis and rental cars are naturally also available. Transportation from Los Angeles International Airport or Long Beach Airport will require either a rental car or a paid (and typically shared) shuttle.

The workshop does not have a block reservation for rooms at a single “official” hotel. The area has many hotels for participants to choose from. The University of California, Irvine has negotiated discounted room rates for a number of these hotels, though we recommend checking with services such as Expedia or Travelocity for potentially cheaper rates.

The Atrium Hotel, Crowne Plaza Irvine, and Hilton Irvine offer complimentary shuttle service to both Orange County/John Wayne Airport and the University of California, Irvine.
