Throughout the course, students should adhere to the following:
- Academic honesty is always an uncomfortable topic and hopefully this will be an unnecessary reminder but here it is. Academic honesty will be strictly enforced, and misconduct dealt with according to the official policy for Academic misconduct at UC Irvine.
- If you are late submitting one of the homeworks, or have a legitimate excuse, contact the instructor and get an exception. Do not violate any of the terms of the academic misconduct above. In grading the homeworks we will check for any such activity, and if detected all parties involved will not receive any points for that assignment. If such misconduct is repeated it will be reported to UCI's Office of Academic Integrity and Student Conduct. Homework grades constitute a large fraction of the overall grade and failing one or more of them will significantly decrease chances of passing this course.
- As a general rule there will be no second opportunity for re-taking the mid-term and final exams for the course, unless there is a serious documented emergency (e.g., medical issue, family issue). Decisions in that case will be made by the instrcutor on a per-case basis.
- The TA for the course does not have the authority to extend homework deadlines, edit/correct grades, or any similar activities. All such requests have to go through the instructor.
