ICS 32 Winter 2020
Course News

Check back here every day or so. I will generally post important coursewide announcements here. They will be listed in reverse-chronological order (i.e., newest items first).

Date Added News Item
Th 3/5 All remaining sets of Notes and Examples are now available, along with a Schedule update through the end of the quarter.
F 2/21 Project #4 and Project #5 are now available.
W 2/19 The proxy server for Project #3 is now available. Additionally, the due date has been postponed until Monday, February 24, to give you more time to use it for testing.
F 2/7 Several new sets of Notes and Examples are available, along with a Schedule update, and also Project #3. There is one missing piece of Project #3 — a "proxy server", which is described in the project write-up — which I will be providing a little later in the project cycle, but will not be required early in your work.
F 1/24 Four new sets of Notes and Examples are available, along with a Schedule update.
M 1/20 Project #2 is now available.
M 1/13 A few sets of Notes and Examples are available, along with a Schedule update.
Th 1/9 My office hours will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:15-8:30pm in DBH 1431, beginning tonight. I don't anticipate needing to miss any Tuesday or Thursday this quarter, and I'll let you know ahead of time if that changes.
Th 1/9 TA and tutor information has been added to the Course Reference.
M 1/2

Welcome! Please note a couple of things as we get started this quarter:

  • The first lecture will meet on Tuesday, January 7. Lab sections begin meeting on Friday, January 10. For more information about meeting times of lab sections, see the Course Reference. For information about lecture material and readings, see the Schedule.
  • I encourage you to spend some time reading through the material on the course web site. It will be updated periodically throughout the quarter, and there will always be an announcement here describing each update. For now, notice the set of links at the top of this (and every) page, leading you to the Course Reference, the Schedule, and the Project Guide, as well as a set of Notes and Examples — mostly emanating from the lectures — that will be posted throughout the quarter.
  • Please note that a warm-up project, Project #0, is due on Friday, January 10 at 11:59pm, so you're going to want to be sure to get off to an early start on that.
