Personal Introduction

Each of you has been placed in a discussion group in Canvas. Introduce yourself to your group members by using Zoom. If you don't already have a Zoom account, you can sign up for free at Zoom.us. If you haven't used Zoom to make recordings, a background video is available.

The goals of this assignment are (a) to let you get familiar with Zoom as a tool you will use again later in the term, (b) to let you get comfortable with recording yourself on video, and (c) to let your group-mates know something about you. Some ideas of what to say are listed later on this page.

Here are some detailed requirements:

As shown on the Master Schedule, there is a deadline for uploading your video. It's important to meet that deadline because the second phase of this assignment is for you to view the videos of each of your group-mates and post a message back to each person. [That's a written message, not another video; don't worry.] Each of your messages should refer in some way to aspects of that person's video. You won't get credit if you post something content-free (like "Hey, good to meet you. Zot zot zot!").

The Master Schedule also shows the due date for completing all your comments.

After introducing yourself by name, here are some topics you might want to address in your video:
